Dr. John Chuma, LMFT

LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST & CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF THE WLCC INTERN PROGRAM

Healing & wholeness is possible.

In the past 23 years of working in the mental health field, I have helped individuals & families navigate through life's challenges. My experience has taught me that people come to therapy looking for practical solutions & an authentic person to engage with. With a specialization in depression, anxiety, addiction, & a strong focus on serving LGBTQ clients, I bring a unique & inclusive approach to my sessions.

As an expert in depression, anxiety, and addiction, I utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches & interventions to tailor treatment plans for each client. I draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Object Relations & Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help my clients gain insight into their thoughts & behaviors, develop coping strategies, & foster resilience. Through my guidance & support, you can find healing, hope, & a renewed sense of purpose on your journey towards emotional well-being.

As the Clinical Director of the WLCC Intern Program, I supervise & oversee interns from numerous universities as they gain experience in the field towards their licensure. Within my feedback & instruction, I desire to empower the future generation of clinicians to lead with the passion & competency that all clients deserve.
